The Majestic Grand by Beryl Dawson
Beryl Dawson - Featured Artist- Wellington Artists Gallery and Art Centre - Sept 4 to Oct 4, 2010
As a member of the Elora Fergus Studio Tour, Beryl is the featured artist at Wellington Artists' Gallery and Art Centre, during the month leading up to the tour. She is a self taught painter of realism. Working with oils, watercolour or mixed media she endeavours to make every piece of work, through exacting detail, a tapestry of lifelike, natural colour and form. She paints on many different surfaces, including steel gold pans from the
, pieces of shale, glass and textile. Her current project is her Canadiana series depicting scenes from coast to coast. Represented in her portfolio are endangered historic buildings, flora and fauna and landmark landscapes of different regions of the country. Regardless of the subject, the results are dramatic, vibrant and correct in detail often making viewers ask if it is a painting or a photo. Yukon
